I wanted to share a fun little before and after of our front room in our home! The top photo is from the real estate listing when we first toured the house, and the bottom photo is how the room looks now, after we’ve made it our own.
When we first walked through the house, this room felt super basic and a bit empty. It was just a simple, open space with a dining table and a few chairs, but it didn’t really have much personality. You can see in the top photo that the room was very minimalistic, with just the basics — the walls were bare, and there wasn’t much in the way of decor. Even the lighting felt a little too neutral for our taste.
But now, in the bottom photo, it’s completely transformed into a vibrant, lived-in space that really reflects our style.
We’ve added lots of color, art, and some cozy elements to give it that warm, welcoming vibe we were going for. We hung up a large collection of art on the walls to bring in some personality and to make it feel more “us.” You can also see that we brought in some plants to add life to the room, and we swapped out the old furniture for a more comfortable, functional layout. The whole space is now brighter and more inviting, perfect for both relaxing and entertaining guests.
A few things that really helped in making the space feel more dynamic:
-
We painted the walls a bolder color to create a cozy atmosphere.
-
The lighting got a little upgrade with a new pendant light that feels more in line with our aesthetic.
-
The furniture is now a mix of vintage and modern, giving it a more eclectic feel that works with the layout.
It’s amazing how much a little paint, artwork, and furniture can change the entire feel of a room! This is one of the spaces where we spend a lot of our time, so it was important to make it feel like a true reflection of our personalities and style.
I’m so happy with how it turned out, and I just wanted to share this transformation with you all! It’s fun to look back at the real estate photos and see how much we’ve been able to personalize and make the space feel our own.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the transformation — and if anyone has tips on how to further style a space like this, I’m all ears! Thanks for reading and let me know what you think!
