The best part is that the whole thing cost me less than $20!

Posted on April 26, 2025

Hopefully this doesn’t fall under “Aldi shame” (haha 😄), but I just had to share a little project I did today that made me so happy! I picked up a few things from Aldi after browsing the ad earlier this week, and I finally got around to putting together a small update for my front yard. Honestly, it’s amazing what a small budget and a little creativity can do — and the best part is that the whole thing cost me less than $20!

Here’s what I grabbed from Aldi:

  • A big bag of topsoil for just $4

  • A super cute solar-powered lantern for $6.99

  • A pretty garden stake for another $6.99

  • Plus, I was lucky enough to find some rocks for free nearby, which really helped pull everything together

I know it’s just a small thing, but it made such a big difference and gave a little extra charm to the front of my house. The lantern lights up so nicely at night, and the garden stake adds the perfect touch of color and personality. I had so much fun arranging everything — honestly, projects like this just make me fall in love with my home all over again, even if it’s just one corner at a time.

I’m definitely still a beginner when it comes to gardening and outdoor decor, but this little success has me really excited to start planning my next mini project. I’m thinking maybe a few more solar lights along the walkway, some container flowers by the porch, or even a DIY bird bath if I’m feeling ambitious!

I just wanted to share this because sometimes it’s easy to feel like you have to spend a ton of money to make improvements around the house or yard, but honestly, small, affordable upgrades like this can be just as satisfying. Plus, it’s fun hunting down little treasures and making them work for your space!

If anyone else has done any budget-friendly yard or garden projects lately, I’d love to see them or hear your ideas. I’m definitely looking for inspiration as I start thinking about what to tackle next. I’m trying to build up the front of my house slowly — one Aldi haul at a time, haha! 🥰

Thanks for letting me share — and if you’re wondering whether that random impulse buy from the Aldi Finds aisle is worth it, I say go for it! Sometimes a $6.99 garden stake is all you need to brighten your whole day.

Can’t wait to dive into my next little project soon — stay tuned!
