Help Me Find This Chair—It’s the Most Comfortable Piece We Own!
Okay friends, I need some serious help. I have this amazing chair that came from my mother-in-law, and it has quickly become the most loved, most used, and most comfortable chair in our entire house. It’s over 30 years old, and yet it has held up like a champ—better than anything I’ve bought in the last decade, honestly.
Now here’s the issue: I need another one. Not want—need.
I’m planning to move the original into my home office so I can use it for break time or a cozy reading spot, and also so the kiddos can flop in it on their days off while I work. It’s that perfect blend of plush but supportive, stylish but not too trendy, and sturdy as anything. Truly, this chair has become the gold standard in our home.
But here’s the catch: I have no idea what brand it is, and I’ve hit a wall trying to track it down.
What I’ve Tried So Far
-
I’ve done Google Reverse Image Search. No luck. Not even close lookalikes.
-
I’ve searched Facebook Marketplace, even expanding to other states (we’re in Wisconsin).
-
I’ve posted in a few furniture forums and vintage groups, but so far, crickets.
-
I’ve checked under the cushions, flipped it upside down, hunted for any kind of label, stamp, or brand tag—nothing. It’s a mystery!
What I Know
-
My mother-in-law bought it over 30 years ago, likely from a quality furniture store at the time.
-
The frame is incredibly solid, the fabric has barely faded, and it still feels supportive—not saggy or worn-out at all.
-
The style is timeless. Not too bulky, but not overly modern either. It just works in every room I put it in.
-
I’m not picky about color or fabric—I’m open to any variation, new or secondhand, as long as it’s the same chair (or a really good dupe).
How You Can Help
If you recognize this chair, or if you’ve seen anything similar in style or comfort, I would love to hear from you. Whether it’s a vintage brand you remember, a modern retailer that makes something close, or even a Marketplace listing that might be a match—please send it my way!
Also open to recommendations on where to look—any stores, resale sites, or secret spots I may not know about? I’m getting desperate (in a cozy, lounge-y kind of way).
It’s funny how a single piece of furniture can become such a staple in your daily life—but this chair truly has. I would be so grateful to find another one so we can enjoy it even more in another room of the house. Thank you in advance for your ideas, tips, leads, or just cheering me on in this little treasure hunt! 😊
